Policy & Guidelines
The McCormick Home Ranch welcomes any licensed caterer, including food trucks and BBQs. It is important to provide your caterer with the McCormick Home Ranch clean-up guidelines to ensure proper procedures are followed. The venue also offers a vendor referral list with many wonderful catering options.
The ranch does not have a kitchen available on-site. However, any kitchen build-outs or specific needs can be rented through Red Door Events, Inc. Their in-house rental company can accommodate any caterer’s requests for an outdoor kitchen build-out.
Clients are allowed to purchase and bring their own alcohol or have it provided by a vendor. All alcohol must be served by a certified bartender. Kegs, beer in bottles, and cans are permitted, but all excess alcohol must be taken home at the end of the event. Hard alcohol bottles are not allowed at guests' tables.
The venue requires that all events have a professional coordinator to manage the event. The coordinator must have event liability insurance. In-house coordinating services are available, and the venue can provide a list of recommended coordinators.
Day-of liability insurance is required from all vendors and clients. Clients must provide a $1 million day-of event insurance policy, which should cover the date of the event and the rehearsal date, if applicable. The policy must include the following four additional insured names: McCormick Home Ranch, Inc., Sally McCormick, Red Door Events, Inc., and Rebecca McCormick. The ranch’s address is 2034 East Fifth Street, Camarillo, CA 93012. Clients can request the venue’s personalized link to an online insurance company or refer to the attached vendor referral list for assistance in obtaining event insurance. All vendors must list the same additional insured names on their insurance policies. Insurance documentation should be emailed to the ranch in one email two weeks prior to the event.
The McCormick Home Ranch provides six portable VIP restrooms onsite, one of which is handicap accessible. All restrooms are stocked with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper by the ranch. If additional supplies are needed during your event, your coordinator should contact the on-site supervisor.
Dressing rooms are available starting at 11 AM and can be used throughout your event. At the end of the event, ensure all trash is placed in the provided bins and remove all personal belongings. If you leave anything behind, you can contact the McCormick Home Ranch for pickup.
All lighting is provided by the ranch or Red Door Events, Inc. Outside lighting is not permitted. If you wish to incorporate additional lighting into your design, it must be arranged through the ranch or Red Door Events, Inc. All lights at the ranch are turned off at 11 PM.
Final payments for your event are due two weeks prior to the event date. Payment methods accepted include cash, check, cashier’s check, or credit card, with a credit card processing fee applied.
All rentals must be arranged through the ranch. You will need to schedule a rental appointment to select the rentals for your event. Final payments for rental equipment are due two weeks before your event date. Specialty rentals may require a deposit or an earlier payment deadline.
Serving staff is required for the entirety of your event. If your caterer does not provide servers, the ranch offers in-house servers that can be hired. Contact the ranch for more information.
All trash must be collected and placed in the onsite dumpster. Failure to properly dispose of trash and empty all trash cans will result in a cleaning cost deducted from your deposit.
Candles are permitted at McCormick Home Ranch, but they must be enclosed in glass. Taper candles are also allowed as long as they are enclosed in glass. However, candles cannot be hung in the trees. Sparklers are the only type of fireworks allowed at the ranch, and they must be handled by your hired coordinator. You can either purchase your own sparklers or rent them through Red Door Events. Sand buckets must be rented or supplied by you, and sparklers must be used on the gravel driveway, not on the lawn. All sparklers must be properly disposed of and not left in the gravel.
The ranch allows you to bring your own decorations, but all decorations must be removed and taken out of the venue by the end of the event. Failure to do so will result in a cleaning fee charged against your deposit.
Rehearsals must be scheduled with the ranch and are allotted 30 to 45 minutes. A coordinator must be present during the rehearsal.
For directions, signage can be placed at the end of the driveway. However, anything you bring must be removed at the end of your event, or a cleaning fee will be charged against your deposit.
Shuttles and car/limo services are welcome at the ranch, and you can refer to the vendor referral list for recommended companies. Uber and Lyft services are also welcomed, and guests may leave cars overnight. All guests must leave the property by 11 PM. It is advised that guests make arrangements for rides in advance to comply with the ranch contract.
The ranch provides a large, lighted gravel parking lot for guests and vendors. Cars may be left parked in the lot overnight but must be picked up by 10 AM the next day.
The ranch does not have potable water, so all water for your event must be brought in by you or your caterer. However, the ranch offers a water supply service for your convenience.
